This tour will take us to places that have inspired famous stories such as “Patria,” “La Brecha,” and “La Jaula de Sal.” We will stroll through the pedestrian streets of the Ensanche, Plaza Gipuzkoa, and the locations of the San Sebastián Film Festival, such as the Hotel María Cristina and the Kursaal Auditorium. San Sebastián has been the setting for films by renowned directors like Woody Allen, who shot “Rifkin’s Festival” here. We will show you the city’s corners that appear in this and other well-known films.

During the tour, we will walk past the Mercado de la Brecha, the remains of the wall, and the old part of the city, passing by historical shops that you will find familiar. We will also stroll along the coast of San Sebastián, admiring views of Santa Clara Island and Mount Urgull. We will conclude this cinematic tour in Plaza de la Constitución, an hour and a half after starting.

The route through the historic center of Vitoria begins in Plaza de España, in front of the Tourist Office. A few meters away, you will find the iconic Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, with the monument to the Battle of Vitoria, commemorating the June 1813 clashes between Napoleonic troops and the armies led by the future Duke of Wellington. After learning about the history of this battle, you will delve into the old town of Vitoria.

The tour continues through the capital of Álava, following the medieval wall’s layout to the Montehermoso Palace, now a cultural center, where you will learn about the Renaissance period in which it was built. In the old area, you will also explore the history of other notable monuments like the Church of San Miguel Arcángel and the Villa Suso Palace.

The tour concludes in front of the patron saint of Vitoria, the Virgen Blanca, near the starting point.
